Commodity Sales Specification Management Standard

Commodity Sales Specification Management Standard of JD.HK Open Platform

Chapter I    Purpose

In order to standardize the sales specification of goods on JD.HK Open Platform, the Rules are formulated, which are applicable to all categories of third-party merchant commodities (i.e. merchant goods or POP goods) on JD.HK Open Platform.

Chapter II  The Role of Sales Specification

Sales specification is the "color and size" setting of the product, which binds a group of products with the same attributes together and displays them in the product details page. It guides users to select commodity types, specifications, packaging and flavors for the order when browsing, so as to improve the shopping experience of users, and meanwhile bring flow for other products and achieve a closed loop of flow.

Chapter III Sales Specification Binding Standards

3.1 Sales specification binding conditions

3.1.1     Same level 3 category: All binding goods must belong to the same level 3 category and the same category of commodity, and it cannot bind goods in different level 3 categories. For example, lipstick and lip gloss belong to different level 3 categories and cannot be bound to each other.

3.1.2     Same brand: it cannot bind goods in different brands The brand should be subject to the brand library, and the group brand and the subsidiary brand should not be bound to each other.

3.1.3     Same type: goods of the same producing area, state and form can be bound.

3.1.4     Same specification: POP products use SPU dimension. Only products of the same specification, different colors or flavors can form a SPU. For example, 100ml and 500ml cannot create a SPU because of different weight information, and binding with each other will lead to inaccurate information retrieval of each port on the foreground, which is also easy to cause customer complaints.

3.2 Naming rules for sales specification:

Merchant should name in accordance with "sales specification = attribute name + attribute value". The naming of "Attribute Name" is set by the Product Management Department of JD.HK, while the naming of "attribute value" is defined by the merchant and wil come into effect after approval. Naming should conform to the following specifications.

3.2.1     The content of attribute value should be terse and concise, and accurately express product information.

3.2.2     There should be no more than 15 Chinese characters for attribute value, and try to keep the same number of words for each attribute value.

3.2.3     The content of attribute value content should be consistent with the product title. For example: If the title is "turkey noodles", the attribute value should also be displayed as "turkey noodles", other than "super spicy turkey noodles" or "double spicy turkey noodles".

3.2.4     The units of each attribute value should be consistent, and should be consistent with the title of the commodity. Do not write the first attribute value as "30 times/package" while write the second as "72 times/quantity"; Do not use 1kg in the title and 1000g in the attribute value.

3.2.5     Keep consistent text style of attribute value, uniform letter case. if there are numbers, use the Arabic numerals.

3.2.6     The use of symbols should be minimized in the naming of attribute value. If symbols must be used, use half-width symbols in the context of English language. It's not allowed to use symbols except "()", "-" or "/"

3.2.7     In order to maintain the uniformity and appearence, use "*" to connect the product quantity and net content, and the use of "X" and "X" are strictly prohibited.

3.2.8     Efficiently use sales specification, and the content of each attribute value cannot be repeated.

3.2.9     Price information and promotion information are prohibited in the name of attribute value. It includes but not limited to "super value, special offer, promotion, seckilling, surprise, present, gift, new style, hot style, 2018" and so on. (Please display the promotional information in the advertisement.)

Prohibited words defined in the new advertising law and banned words management are also applicable to the attribute value naming rules.

3.2.10   For goods with size, indicate the suitable height and waist circumference in the attribute value. Such as "M/165" and "L/170".

3.2.11   Product efficacy can be reflected in the attribute value, but the use of words with absolute meaning is prohibited. For example, for "Lv" series of shampoo, the attribute value can be written as "red Lv for the repair of hair perming and dying" and "green Lv with oil-control and anti-dandruff function".

3.3 Display logic and sorting rules for sales specification

3.3.1     Multiple dimensions are not allowed to be displayed in the same sales specification, which can be separated into two sales specifications to bind them. For example: taste and weight can not be mixed in the same sales specification; model and net content can not be mixed in the same sales specification.

3.3.2     Each attribute value must be sorted regularly. For example, the volume and size of the product and the level of the milk powder must be sorted in descending or ascending numerical order.

3.3.3     The order of information points in one attribute value must be uniform. For example, in the same group of sales specifications of milk powder, the content format of each sales specification is "level + applicable age + quantity".
